On Kindness: The Barnstable Potter
The art of Ceramics has always been fascinating to me: it's the chosen art form of my mother, who taught me much of what I know about the craft. I can remember her taking classes all throughout my life, but her most recent teacher, Kevin Nolan - owner and talented artist of Barnstable Pottery - is her favorite. My mom helps him out in the studio for an exchange of his instruction and the use of his kiln. He's the kindest man and has taught her so much. My Mom's new work is breathtaking. She recently created a full dining set for me, and I'm blown away by her craft.
I love Kevin for his kind heart and his friendship toward my mother. He even displays and sells Small Pleasures in his beautiful shop. We live in a small town, and without compassionate people like Kevin, it wouldn't be an ideal place to inhabit.
